Constance “Connie” M. Mellody passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at her residence in Wayne, PA. She was 46 years old. Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 4, 1973, she was a daughter of the late William and Constance L. (Cortis) Mellody. Surviving relatives are: Uncle John Cortis of Ordina, CA, Uncle John Mellody of Philadelphia, PA, Aunt Romayne Dougherty of Binghamton, NY and Marian Holmes of Kingsville, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Ann Mellody. Connie earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from West Chester University. Connie served as a Literacy Intern with the Philadelphia School District. She also worked as a teacher’s aide and substitute for the Radnor Township School District and West Chester School District. She was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA, where she was a CCD assistant. Connie volunteered at Bryn Mawr Hospital and Hospice. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, which is dedicated to the advancement of women educators. Connie enjoyed reading, traveling, bingo (especially when she won) and animals, especially her dog, Rachael. She cherished family and friends and kept in touch with so many people. She was so proud of her heritage; especially, her Irish heritage. After months of researching and completing paperwork, Connie was given her Irish citizenship. This meant so much to her. Connie’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 10:30 am. The interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S. Gulph Road, King of Prussia, PA.
