Cynthia Marie Brach, 81, resident of Eagleville, PA for the past 48 years, died peacefully on March 21, 2017 after a long illness. She was the widow of Thomas J Brach. Tom and Cynthia shared 43 years of marriage together. Born in Bridesburg, in the north east section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Leon and Victoria Przybylowski, and the sister of Lee Przybylowski, Sister Eileen Terese Przybylowski, Joseph Przybylowski, Rosalie Logan, Frances Coppola and Raymond Price (deceased). Born on May 15, 1935, Cynthia was a graduate of Little Flower High School and the Columbia Institute School of Communications, and later attended Montgomery County Community College. Cynthia worked for PSFS, WIP-AM radio, and various Philadelphia advertising agencies, and served as recording secretary of the Philadelphia Club of Advertising Women. After raising three children she returned to the work force at UNISYS and as a volunteer and patron of civics and the arts. She volunteered for over 38 years at Valley Forge National Historic Park, as well as a Cathedral Ambassador at Ss. Peter and Paul Basilica in Philadelphia. She was an active member of Visitation BVM church, and member of the women's guild. In retirement, Cynthia enjoyed traveling the globe with her family to Egypt, Poland, Alaska, and Montana. She completed continuing education and cultural courses at Oxford University in England, with her husband, Tom. Cynthia’s greatest pride came from her love of Philadelphia, her hometown neighborhood of Bridesburg, her Polish heritage, and her devotion to family tradition. Almost any family celebration included exuberant singing of Sto Lat and toasting “Na zdrowe!” Cynthia relaxed by solving (most or all of) Philadelphia Inquirer crossword puzzles, building the perfect long-burning fire on her first try, sipping herbal tea, laughing at Newhart reruns, and examining the historical accuracy of the TV series Madmen. Cynthia is survived by daughter Linda Brach Hassenstein and her husband, Rush Hassenstein; son Andrew and his wife, Anna Kmita Brach; son Jonathan and his wife, Krista Burkey Brach. Five grandchildren will miss their “Babci:”: Victoria, Claudia, Stephanie, Natalie, and Max. Cynthia was also, at times, “Babci” to Linda’s three foster children: Isabela, Joey, and Dominick. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted in Cynthia’s name by Valley Forge Park Alliance, www.vfparkalliance.org 610-783-1777.
