Cynthia A. Mcgivney

Cynthia A. McGivney passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2013 with her family at her side.  She was 61 years old.     Cyndy was born on August 16, 1952 in Wilmington, Delaware.  She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and received her A.A. Degree from Del Tech.  She worked hard for over 35 years as an administrative assistant, most recently at Carrcroft Elementary School.  Cyndy enjoyed summers at the beach, reading, traveling and vacationing in Florida with her family.  She was a people person loved by many and devoted some of her free time volunteering at her church, St. Helena's especially during the annual carnival.  With her warm disposition and sunny smile, she had a knack for making people feel at home.  She was a loving wife, a beloved mother and a caring grandmother.   Cyndy was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Genevieve Mowery, originally of Lewistown, PA, as well as her mother-in-law, Margaret McGivney.  She graced the lives of her husband, Kevin; her oldest son, Bob, and wife Vita of Indian Harbour Beach,Florida; her youngest son, Shea; her 3 grandchildren, Sean, Claude and Celeste; her brother, Daniel Mowery of Florida; father-in-law, Joseph McGivney; brother and sister in laws Tom and Patty McGivney, John and Patty Hayes, Kathy and Danny Boylan and Bill and Lisa McGivney; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.   Come join the family in a celebration of Cyndy's life this Friday, September 13th at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809.  Mass will be held at 11 am, with a visitation at the church from 10:00-10:50 and a luncheon in the church hall to follow the services.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Parish Social Ministry at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809 Funeral Mass 11 AM Friday, 9-13-13 at St. Helena's Church Visitation from 10-10:50 Friday at Church Contributions: Parish Social Ministry at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809
