D. Bernard Heffernan, 87, of Harleysville, PA passed away Friday, April 1st, 2022, peacefully, at Abington Lansdale Hospital, Lansdale, PA. Bernie was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 12, 1934, a son of the late Mae (Duffy) and D. Bernard Heffernan, Sr. He was the husband of Mary A. (Lyons) Heffernan. For over a half a century. Bernie was a graduate of Germantown Academy and LaSalle College. He was a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the service Bernie was awarded a patent, he co-authored, as an Engineer for Amtrak. He retired in 1999 at age 65 and was a member of the NRA. Bernie is survived by his loving wife Mary, his children Daniel, Denise (Joseph Pae), Maureen Carr (Thomas) and Christine. He is also survived by his Five Grandsons: Thomas (TJ), Zachery, Colin, Evan and Aidan. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 8:45 to 9:45 AM and to his Funeral Mass at 10 AM, both on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Corpus Christi Church 900 Sumneytown Pike in Lansdale, PA 19446. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi School. His interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Services entrusted to Joseph J.
