Daniel F. X. Powell

Daniel F.X. Powell, Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78. Mr. Powell was a resident of King of Prussia PA. He worked for over 37 years as a Claims Supervisor for the Allstate Insurance Company. He served in many supervisory and administrative positions until his retirement in 1997. Daniel was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. Mr. Powell was a US Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict.Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 1, 1933, he was a son of the late Arthur A. and Mary S. (Sullivan) Powell. He was the husband of the late Anna T. (Green) Powell, who died in 2008. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, the Rev. Daniel F.X. Powell of Harrisburg, PA and Christopher M. Powell and his wife, Nancy of Lower Gwynedd, PA; two daughters, Marianne P. Lubrecht and her husband, Frederick of King of Prussia, PA and Kathleen P. Kiczula and her husband, Michael of King of Prussia, PA; 5 grandchildren: Adrianna, Michaela, Madelyn, Fiona and Claire; a brother, Arthur Powell; three sisters: Sister Rita Powell, R.S.M., Sister Elizabeth Powell, R.S.M. and Mary Grahn; a sister-in-law, Sister Catherine Green, I.H.M; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 1:00pm. Officiating will be his son, the Rev. Daniel F.X. Powell. His viewing will be Friday from 11:30am to 12:50pm, at the church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's memory to Camilla Hall, 1145 W.
