Daniel C. 'Dan' Valerio

Daniel C. "Dan" Valerio, Sr. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA. He was 82. Mr. Valerio was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, PA. He was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1949. Dan worked as a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542, for 44 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. Mr. Valerio was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving 13 months in Korea with the 461st Infantry Battalion Heavy Motor. Dan received a Purple Heart.Born in Bridgeport, PA on November 20, 1931, he was a son of the late John S. and Louise (D'Ambrosia) Valerio. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 54 years, Eleanor (Findeisen) Valerio; two sons, Daniel C. Valerio, Jr. of Bridgeport, PA and James W. & Carolyn Valerio of King of Prussia, PA; a granddaughter, Brianna Louise Valerio; a brother, Nicholas S. & Dorothy Valerio of Phoenixville, PA; a sister, Carmella L. Sutera of Plymouth Meeting, PA; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John & Joseph Valerio. Relatives & friends are invited to Dan's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Worship Site, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 10:30 am. His viewing will be Monday from 9 to 10:20 am, at the Worship Site. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's memory to the American Heart Association, 5455 N.
