David P. Jones was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 17, 1953 to Helen and Harry D. Miller. He was educated in the Philadelphia school system and graduated from Howard University. David was employed Merck Pharmaceutical as a Sr. Computer Specialist Manager for over 35 years. After retiring from Merck, and needing to keep busy, David joined the Home Depot and worked as an Associate until he became ill. David was known to family and friends for his exotic taste in Cuban Cigars and Single Malt Scotches. Over the years he collected and smoked Cuban Cigars with cigar connoisseurs across the country. While sharing his expertise with friends and family he became well versed on Cuban Cigars and Single Malt Scotches. He also loved deep sea fishing in the Florida Keys. He is proceeded in death by his mother Helen Jones. David’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his beloved wife (Shelia Walker-Jones). God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be. So, he wrapped his arms around you, and whispered. “Come unto me”. With tearful eyes I watched you, and saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. A special heart stopped beating, then I saw you sleeping so peaceful and free from pain, I could not wish you to come back to suffer that all again. He only takes the best. Services are private at the convenience of the family and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Services entrusted to the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home, Jenkintown, PA.
