David M. Kirkpatrick, Jr.

David M. Kirkpatrick, Jr. 78, of Ardsley, PA, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, while in the company of family, at his residence. David was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 11, 1941, a son of the late Gladys Aldersley and David Miller Kirkpatrick. He was step father to the late Scott Sliwinski, brother to the late John Kirkpatrick (survived by wife Janice) and Carol Unger (survived by husband Robert). He was the husband of Jeanne M. (Young) Kirkpatrick. David served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Acme Markets for 43 years. Through retirement his work ethic continued in his various positions at JML Construction, Rose Uniforms, Aquatic Connections and Holly Days. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, taxidermy, and playing his lottery numbers. He loved playing pranks, telling stories, fixing anything and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. David was happiest in the presence of family and friends and will be deeply missed by many. David is survived by his beloved wife Jeanne, his loving children David (Catherine), Scott (Amy), and Jeanne Connell. Stepchildren John Sliwinski (Tiffany), Andrew Sliwinski (Sandra), Sarah Whiteley (Joseph) and Lisa Sliwinski; his dear sisters Gail Hurlock and Joyce Sernaker (Gary) and his 16 devoted Grandchildren: Alia, Daniel, Robert, Shawn, Breanne, Taylor, Taliah, Jordon, Nina, Nathan, Scott, Drew, Joseph, Aubrey, Mackenzie and soon to be arriving baby Roman. A Social Distancing Viewing (about 20 people at one time) will be held 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM on Thursday, May 28th, 2020 at Immaculate Conception BVM Church 602 West Ave. in Jenkintown, PA A private Funeral Mass (immediate family approximately 20 people) will be celebrated 11 AM on Thursday, May 28th at Immaculate Conception BVM Church in Jenkintown, PA with Rev. Joseph Howarth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
