David F. Michael, 62, of Glenside, PA passed on suddenly Tuesday, December 14th, 2021 at Abington-Jefferson Hospital. Dave was born in Lancaster, PA on April 25, 1959, youngest son of the late Mary R. (Hahn) and Richard L. Michael. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret (Ransom) Michael, and daughters Jessica Michael and Erica Taylor (Dan). He is “PawPaw” to his grandpup, Daphne Jane. Dave is also survived by siblings MaryAnn Armstrong, Dot Michael-Morales (Juan), and Rick Michael. Dave worked as a Home Health Care Technician for the last 20 years. Dave truly enjoyed meeting and helping people. He got to know the patients he served and would stop to lend condolences if one of them passed. Dave was an avid blood donor for most of his life, and he has continued to help people even in death as an organ donor through Gift of Life. Dave had a deep love and passion for sports from the time he was a young boy. His father coached the teams he participated on, and his passion for Little League continued throughout his life. He was a true Philadelphia sports fan, and was lucky to experience two Flyers Stanley Cup Championships, a Phillies World Series Championship, and more recently, and long awaited, an Eagles Superbowl Championship. He enjoyed going to many Flyers games with his daughter Jessica and sister Dot. His #1 team by far was his FLYERS, and he cherished his chance to meet many players including Bobby Clarke. Dave also had a passion for music. Some favorites were Billy Joel, Bob Segar, and Jim Croce; just to name a few. If you know anything about Dave, it is that Bruce Springsteen was his all-time favorite. He attended 30+ concerts and made many friends across the world through Springsteen Radio and various Springsteen groups. Dave was well known by the Disc Jockeys on local stations and was honored on air with a tribute by Pierre Robert of WMMR. Whether it be Springsteen, Bob Seger, New Found Glory or Andrew McMahon he was always happy to go to a show with his youngest daughter, Erica. Dave loved going to Ocean City, Maryland with his family, but he was also happy doing simple things. Much time was spent riding around with his wife Peggy shopping for items to sell on eBay. This became a weekend passion, and they'd take short road trips, have lunch and shop. Dave, Wooba (Peggy's nickname for him), Dad, Papa Bear; he is and will be greatly missed. A Public Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave. in Jenkintown, PA. His memorial service will follow at 7 PM with Pastor Jim Garcia of Glenside Bible Church officiating. Sports and music attire are encouraged to honor Dave’s love for them during his life.
