David E. Monyer

David E. Monyer, 88, of King of Prussia, PA went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. David was born April 6, 1935 in Burlington, NJ, son of the late Edward Mark Monyer Jr. and Freda A (Groth) Monyer.

David was preceded in death by his loving wife Hilary (VanSciver) and his sister Ruth E (Monyer) Conley and twin brothers Richard P and Robert L Monyer.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army in 1958 as a Supply Clerk at Fort Dix, NJ. David married Hilary in 1960 and later moved to King of Prussia, PA where they raised daughter Jocelyn and son David.

David and Hilary were long time members of Upper Merion Baptist Church (UMBC) and loved singing together in the church choir, worshiping Jesus Christ, their Lord and Savior. Hilary passed away in 2003 and since then, David remained very active with church activities and continuing to sing in the UMBC choir, as well as serving others in the community for many years by volunteering to drive cancer patients to their appointments. David also volunteered at Manor Care Senior Living in King of Prussia playing the piano and doing arts & crafts with the residents.

David studied at the Philadelphia College of Art and worked as an artist/graphic designer for American Baptist Churches in King of Prussia, PA until 1989. In the years that followed, in addition to his volunteer work, David enjoyed free-lance graphics, calligraphy and art work. David loved photography and created personalized birthday and specialty cards utilizing his God given talents.

David is survived by daughter Jocelyn (Michael) Donovan, son David J. (Sandra) Monyer. Grandchildren: Casey (Rocco) Destafney, Ryan (Lauren) Donovan, Devon (Tom) Viscuso, and Sean (Emily) Donovan. Great-grandchildren: Joanna, Grant, Vincent and baby Natalie on the way.

To honor David’s wishes, there will be a private burial. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Upper Merion Baptist Church, 585 General Steuben Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Saturday December 16, 2023 11:00am.
