David E. Vannicelli passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Reading, PA. He was 82. Mr. Vannicelli was a former resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as an engineer for the US Government in Lakehurst, NJ and also for the former GE in King of Prussia, PA. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA and the Upper Merion Senior Center. David was one of the founders of the King of Prussia Indians Football Association, where he was a former coach and president of the organization. Mr. Vannicelli was a US Navy veteran of WW II. Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 8, 1926, he was a son of the late David L. and Florence S. (Sabatelli) Vannicelli. He was the husband of the late Mary (Appolonia) Vannicelli, who died in March of 2009. Surviving are his loving family including two daughters, Sandra A. Newstein and her husband, Rick of Reading, PA and Donna C. Wellman and her husband, Tom of Pearl City, Hawaii; four grandchildren: Kristin, David, Colin and Andrew; and many nephews and nieces. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 11:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Msgr. John T. Conway, Pastor. His viewings are Tuesday evening from 6 to 7:30pm, at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 and Wednesday morning from 10 to 10:50am, at the church.
