Dolores Hentz Smith

Dolores (Dodie) Hentz Smith passed away at the age of 93.

Born Dec. 5, 1929, Dolores was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who also managed to balance a successful real estate career.

She lost her first husband, James Hentz, to cancer and later married William Smith, with whom she shared a love for the Jersey Shore in Brigantine, dividing her time between there and Jenkintown, PA.

She is survived by her children, Pat Hentz, Judy Meier, Michael Hentz, Otto Hentz, Joseph Hentz and step children Cyndi Smith, Skip Smith and Tami Jakubowski . Also survived by her brother- and sister-in-laws, Father Otto, and Sister Mary, Marge Ballantyne.

She was predeceased by her son, James Hentz and her brother, John Ballantyne, brother-in-law Joe, and sister in-laws Laura, Martha, Anne and Alma

The grandmother of 20 and great-grandmother to 11, Dodie was happiest while spending time with her family, especially with their Christmas traditions, summers "down the shore," and any time with her dog, Tiger.

Friends and relatives will always remember Dodie for her endless energy and love of her work as a realtor.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Thursday, June 29th from 10-11 am with a memorial service at 11 am at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046. Interment Hillside Cemetery.
