Donald B. Brennan

August 12, 1944 — September 7, 2024

Donald Brennan, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. He is survived by his loving sister Ellen, his daughter Tammy and her husband Roger, his son John, and his treasured grandchildren Kagan, Haley, Rian and Col.

Donald (Donnie) was a graduate of Jenkintown High School and attended Rider College. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Donnie took immense pride in his military service and carried that pride throughout his life. After the service, he worked in industrial sales where he was recognized many times for being the top salesman of his company.

Donnie married the love of his life, Mary Lou in April of 1966. They were happily married for 37 years and traveling with Mary Lou was one of Donnie’s greatest joys. Their trips were always centered around destinations accessible by train, combining his passion with their shared adventures.

Donnie’s life was a testament to his passions and commitments. His love for trains was unparalleled, spanning from the large diesel engine trains to the intricate model trains. This passion wasn’t just a hobby; it was a way of life. He volunteered extensively, which led him to acquire his engineer license, allowing him to operate the trains he adored. He also found joy on the golf course, where he spent many happy hours.

Donnie was a pillar of the Jenkintown VFW, where he had served as post commander along with other duties over the years. His dedication to the VFW and his community was unwavering, and he made a lasting impact on everyone he met there.

Donnie’s warmth, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will be cherished forever.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 3pm-7pm at the Jenkintown VFW, 204 Leedom St. Jenkintown, PA 19046. His interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Jenkintown VFW can be made in his name.
