Donald Allen Williams, Sr. passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was 86. Donald was a resident of Norristown, PA. Donald was a very artistic sign maker. After working 18 years for Kunda Signs in King of Prussia, he then started his own business, Don Williams Custom Signs in Skippack Village, PA. After his own company, he worked for Graeber Studios in Norristown, PA. He was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Boy Scout Leader. One of the original members of the Port Indian Ski Club, he perfected the helicopter spin and flew the kite that he built. Donald also built motor boats and was an excellent wood worker. He played the guitar and loved to sing. He volunteered at the Senior Center (Montco SAAC) in Norristown, where he would play songs for the seniors. Donald and his wife sang on the country radio station, WRCP in Norristown, and they also performed at Lincoln Elementary School. He was an artist and member of the Norristown Art Club, where he won honorable mention for his painting of Silent Strings. Besides playing the guitar, one of his favorite pastimes was fishing in the Schuylkill River. Donald was a very family-oriented person and had a positive effect on everyone he met. Born in Norristown, PA on October 3, 1932, he was a son of the late Nelson and Mary (Booz) Williams. He was the husband of the late Alice May (Wambold) Williams. Surviving is his loving family including 2 sons, Donald A. (Peggy) Williams, Jr. and Mark (Amy) Williams; 2 daughters: Sandra (late Joseph) Pascavage and Elaine (late Wally) Miller; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Williams; a sister, Jean Frisco; son-in-law, Dennis Murray; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by infant son, Michael David Williams; daughter, Laurie Murray; brother, Nelson Williams; and sister, Mary Lozorak. Relatives and friends are invited to Donald’s viewing at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 10 to 10:50 am, with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
