Donna J. Sansalone

Donna J. Sansalone of Fort Washington, PA, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017, from an infection due to surgical complications at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was 68 years old. Donna was born in Philadelphia to the late Edward J. and June (Barnes) Adams, but lived most of her life in and around the King of Prussia area. She worked for years as an executive secretary and ultimately as a customer service/inside sales rep at a food distributor until a 2008 battle with cancer motivated her to break the corporate shackles and start enjoying life every day in retirement. Donna never took crap from anyone. Stubborn and hard headed to the end, she always excelled more at giving orders than taking them. With a vibrant personality and love for life and gatherings, though, she had an uncanny ability to make friends wherever she went. If she liked you, you had no greater ally. If she didn’t, you knew right away. Donna enjoyed hosting grand tea parties, visiting warm tropical places, gardening, cooking, decorating, lunch out with friends, days at the spa and a nice glass of white wine with two ice cubes in it. She also enjoyed a good movie – provided it had little to no profanity in it, but she could curse a hole through you if you made the unfortunate mistake of getting her mad enough. Donna will always be remembered by those lucky enough to have known her as someone who loved to laugh, who loved to celebrate, who was never afraid to do the hard work, who was fiercely independent and who we could all count on when the chips were down. Donna Sansalone is survived by her husband, Bill (who she affectionately called Willie), who will be greatly missing his favorite partner in crime and her son, Ed, who promises to continue to work hard every day to never disappoint her, as well as her 8 cousins who she always felt were her extended siblings growing up and countless friends whose wolf pack will never quite be the same. Donna’s Funeral Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10 to 11 am. Interment will be private.
