Donna J. (Shingledecker) Thompson

Donna Jean (Shingledecker) Thompson passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 78. Mrs. Thompson worked for Western/PFSF Bank and PFSF Mortgage Company. She retired from Strawbridge & Clothier, where she worked in accounting services. Donna was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in King of Prussia, PA. She was an avid golfer and bowler, a member of the LPGA and a chair person for the former General Washington Country Club. Born in Chardon, Ohio on March 31, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Theodore "Orval" and Laura Elizabeth (Savage) Shingledecker. She was the wife of the late Blair C. Thompson, who died in 2002. Surviving is her loving family including two daughters, Michele L. Duncan of King of Prussia, PA and Cindy J. Schulze of King of Prussia, PA; a son, Scott B. Thompson of King of Prussia, PA; six grandchildren: Robert, Melinda, Stephen, Laura, Nicholas and Jennifer; three great-grandchildren: Hailey, Aiden and Madison; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Shingledecker. Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Julie K. Dewerth, Pastor. Donna's viewing will be Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:50am, at the funeral home. Interment in Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Valley Forge, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donna's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103 and/or Jefferson Hospice, 240 Radnor Chester Rd., Radnor, PA 19087.
