Doris Louise Boswell

Doris (Main) Boswell, 93 of Phoenixville, PA passed away peacefully on January 31, 2022. She was born in Honesdale, PA on February 25, 1928, to the late Roger and Agnes (Collins) Main. Doris had two half brothers, Kenneth and Emmet who are both deceased. Her family moved to Philadelphia when she was a teenager. Doris graduated from Roxborough High School. Doris and James L. Boswell Jr. met when he was soliciting work in her neighborhood. He had a nursery and grew plants. They fell in love and married in 1952 and were together until he passed in February 2021. For most of her married life they lived in Skippack and Worcester, Pa. Doris was a mother, housewife and a caregiver for her mother, Agnes Main for many years. She enjoyed that role. She always had a warm home cooked meal on the table for dinner. She was supported by her husband’s business, serving as a receptionist while home with her family. She enjoyed family reunions, Knights of Columbus outings, Rotary Ladies Nights, and Keystone Grange #2. Doris is survived by her children; Alice Corkum (John), Susan Cipolla (Alan), Jim Boswell (Paula); 6 grandchildren, Elizabeth Corkum, Marth Lemmons, James Corkum, James Boswell, Angela Cipolla, Michael Cipolla and 2 great grandchildren, Willow and Finn Corkum. Doris loved her family dearly. Doris lost her will to live after her husband passed. Her wish was that the viewing and services be reserved for the family. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Eleanor Church, 647 Locust St, Collegeville, PA 19426. Interment will follow at Lower Skippack Mennonite Cemetery, 892 Evansburg Rd, Collegeville, PA 19426.
