Doris M. Furlong

Furlong Doris (nee Reid), 93, a long time resident of Jenkintown, PA died in her home on February 13, 2021. Born in East Stroudsburg, PA to the late Charles and Mary Katherine Reid. Loving mother of Edward (Joanne),  Barbara Shaw (Ron), Shirley Pearce (Bob), Kathy Johnson,  Patty West, Mary Ellen Fitzgerald (Paul) and Michael Furlong (Trish).  Preceded in death by daughter Diane Fitzgerald (Bernie).  Also survived by one sister, one brother, 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.  Doris was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School Class of 1945 and Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing class of 1948,served with the Cadet Nurse Corp - WWII.  Employed for 25 years in the NICU at Albert Einstein Medical Center and more recently at Jenkintown Medical Associates – retired from nursing at the age of 80. Doris was an active member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Abington, PA serving for many years on the Alter Guild.  Also, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  Served for many years as corresponding secretary of The Breathing Room Foundation. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Breathing Room Foundation, P. O.
