Dorothy E. (DeLand) Corlett passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. She was 89. Mrs. Corlett was a resident of Lafayette Hill, PA and was previously of King of Prussia, PA. She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Wayne, PA, where she sang in the choir, played in the bell choir for many years, and was an active member of the 59er's of the church. Dorothy was a life member of Radiant Chapter #96 Order of the Eastern Star. For many years she was a Girl Scout leader, organizer and troop consultant. Mrs. Corlett was a substitute teacher for the Upper Merion Area School District and also worked for World Mutual Health and Accident Insurance Company. She was a graduate of Chester High School and Temple University. Born in Camden, NJ on June 5, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Ellen (Escott) DeLand. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 27 years, Norman A. Corlett; two sons, Richard T. Baldwin and his wife, Carol of Mansfield, Ohio and Peter A. Baldwin and his wife, Lorraine of Belleplain, NJ; a daughter, Carol E. DeFelice and her husband, James of S. Philadelphia, PA; two step-daughters, Donna M. Haehl and her husband, George of Severn, MD and Cheryl L. Baker of Norristown, PA; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Folks of Surprise, AZ; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy C. DeFelice; a sister, Vivian Moore; and her first husband, Trusten M. Baldwin. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 600 Walker Rd., Wayne, PA 19087 on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 10:30am. Officiating will be the Rev. Dawn Taylor-Storm. Her viewing will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:20am, at the church. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 600 Walker Rd., Wayne, PA 19087 and/or South Seaville Camp Meeting, South Seaville, NJ 08246.
