Dorothy A. Murray, (nee Szpindor), age 85, with her family by her side in hospice care, died peacefully while sleeping on Dec. 9, 2021. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Skarbek) Szpindor. She was the loving mother of Christopher (Gni) of Schwenksville, PA, Cheryl (David) Brownell of Hamilton, NJ, and Kevin of Sheridan, CO, and devoted grandmother to James Fitzpatrick of Ambler, PA and Thomas Fitzpatrick of Rockaway, NJ. Surviving also were her brothers Edward Szpindor of Georgia and Ronald of Virginia. Dorothy was an employee of Rohm and Haas Chemical Company for 36 yrs. as a lab technician. She was a graduate of Nazareth Academy. She attended Immaculata College for 2 years with a major in Chemistry after graduating high school. Later she went back to college and finished her Bachelor’s degree at Temple University in 1995 with a major in Horticulture. She was a gifted singer and piano player as a child and in high school. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority. For a time was the secretary/treasurer for the Polish Roman Catholic Union. She volunteered at the New Britain Baptist food larder. She attended senior classes at Delaware Valley College. She loved to make chrusciki with her daughter and grandsons at Christmas time. She enjoyed reading, game shows and puzzle books. A graveside service will be at Westminster Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd on Dec. 14th at 11:00 a.m. Private memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, etc., donations to the National Council on Aging [https://www.ncoa.org] would be appreciated by the family.
