Dorothy J. Ross

Dorothy J. (Reed) Ross passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 92. Dorothy worked as a telephone operator for the former Bell Telephone in Norristown, PA. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. Dorothy worked at Bell Telephone as an operator. She was also a seamstress and homemaker. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as helping care for her various grand-pets. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on January 28, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Raymond S. and Frances (Ambler) Reed. She was the wife of the late William F. Ross, who died in 2015. Surviving is her loving family including 2 sons, Gary R. Ross and his wife, Sallie, of Short Hills, NJ and William L. Ross and his wife, Julia, of Chicago, Illinois; 3 daughters: Linda F. Capetola of Limerick, PA, Jane L. Ross of King of Prussia and Kimberlea Cressman and her husband, Frank, of King of Prussia; 11 grandchildren: Todd, Jennifer, Chad, Shannon, Courtney, Brandon, Karina, Cole, Craig, Katelyn and Lacey; 5 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Wyatt, Garett, Taylor and Tyler; a sister-in-law, Margaret Reed of Harleysville, PA; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen “Dottie” Ross; son-in-law, Frank Capetola; daughter-in-law, Linda (Whitmore) Ross; brother, Raymond Reed; and sister, Helen Reed Blanche. The family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 9 to 10:50 am, with a Prayer Service at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
