Douglas K. Eaton

Douglas K. Eaton, also known by his loving family and friends as "Pop" and "DKE", passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Phoenixville, PA. He was 79. Mr. Eaton was a long time resident of Malvern, PA where he made a home with his wife, the late Marianne B. Eaton. He later relocated to Pottstown, PA with his son and daughter-in-law, where he lived the remainder of his life. Douglas was heavily involved in the automotive field and worked as a service writer/technician for several car dealerships. Douglas was a member of St. Patrick Church in Malvern, PA. He enjoyed car customizing, car shows, drag racing, and reminiscing about his '67 Corvette. He was a lifelong Elvis fan listening to Elvis everywhere he went, enjoyed landscaping with his John Deere, and most of all, loved spending time with his grandsons on and off the sports fields. He was also an honorary member of the Wicked Effects Car Club in Boyertown, PA, where he helped children with cancer while enjoying his love for cars. Douglas was a United States Air Force veteran.Raised in Haddonfield, NJ on June 25, 1935, he was a son of the late Ralph B. Eaton and Elizabeth (Lummis) Mascotte. He was the loving husband of 42 years of the late Marianne (Bukata) Eaton, who died in 2010. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Douglas M. Eaton and his wife, Robin, of Pottstown, PA; two grandsons, Jared and Cole; a sister, Diane VanderVeer and her husband, Joe, of Devon, PA; and two nephews and four nieces. Relatives & friends are invited to Douglas' Divine Liturgy at SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 12:00 pm. Officiating will be Msgr. Dr. Ronald Popivchak, Pastor. His viewing will be Tuesday morning from 11:00 am to 11:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA, directly thereafter.
