Dr. Joseph L. Ciminera passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2011 in the Meadows at Shannondell in Audubon, PA. He was 93. Dr. Ciminera was a resident of Audubon, PA and was formerly a long time resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as the Director of Bio-metrical Research for Merck in West Point, PA for 52 years. Joseph was a member of Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 4, 1917, he was a son of the late Angelo and Anina (Iannelli) Ciminera. He was the husband of the late Kathleen (Siess) Ciminera, who died in 1998. Surviving is his loving family including a son, William J. Ciminera and his wife, Jacqueline of Broomall, PA; a daughter, Carol Ann Westhoff and her husband, George Porter of King of Prussia, PA; two grandchildren, Siobhan and William Jr.; two brothers, Armand Ciminera and his wife, Jane of Vorrhees, NJ and Victor Ciminera and his wife, Mary Alice of Philadelphia, PA; a sister, Yolanda A. Ciminera of Voorhees, NJ; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Angelo, Guido and Frank; and a sister, Lena Ciminera. Relatives and friends are invited to Joseph's Funeral Service at the Washington Memorial Chapel, Rt. 23, Valley Forge Park, Valley Forge, PA 19481 on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:30am. Officiating will be Father Roy Almquist, Interim Rector. The family will greet friends in the Bishop White Library (lower level of the chapel), on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:20am. Interment in Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Valley Forge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to the Meadows' Staff Appreciation Fund, c/o The Meadows @ Shannondell, 10000 Shannondell Dr., Audubon, PA 19403.
