Born October 11, 1944 and died June 20, 2024. Beloved husband of Barbara for 55 years, father of Kara, father-in-law to Brian, and “Pa“ to his grandsons, Evan and Colin. Preceded in death by his mother Ethel and his father, Harvey.

Eric grew up in Wappingers Falls, NY, where he was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Wappingers Central HS. He attended Hamilton College and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. Eric served as a Captain at DaNang Air Force Base in Vietnam in 1970. Upon finishing his military service, he completed his Orthodontic degree at NYU. At the start of his career, Eric was in private dental practice with his father, Dr. Harvey Miller, in Wappingers Falls, NY. In 1981, he became the Dental Director at Downstate Correctional Facility, and eventually got involved with the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF).

After retiring, Eric and Barbara moved to Downingtown, PA to be near Kara, Brian and their grandsons. This time was spent enjoying watching Evan and Colin play baseball and listening with great pride to their adventures on the golf course. Eric was always eager to compete in a game of chess, and loved engaging people in conversation, telling jokes and bantering. “Never at a Loss for Words”, the title of one of his five published books, epitomized Eric. He was a literary humorist who exchanged ‘the drill for the quill’ and ended up with a sizable following on twitter around the world. Eric and Barbara traveled extensively, especially in Europe, enjoying numerous river cruises. For a period of time, he tried his hand at winemaking with a vineyard in his backyard overlooking the Hudson. He finally resigned as winemaker and relinquished his land back to the deer who loved his grapes.

Eric battled the cruel disease of Lewy Body Dementia until the end.
