Dr. Lawrence A. “Larry” Anderson passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. He was 72. Dr. Anderson was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a graduate of Norristown High School, Class of 1965 and earned his Doctorate in Education from Temple University. Larry worked as a teacher for the Colonial School District and then was a Reading Specialist for the MCIU, until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the King of Prussia Players for 48 years, where he acted, directed and was their president. He was employed by the Colonial Historians, where he played the role of George Washington. Larry was a private tutor who taught math and reading to children with learning disabilities. He was also a percussionist, taught theatre and enjoyed training horses, farming, cooking, camping, and was an avid builder and craftsman. Larry was a Scout Master for many years and had the highest numbers of Eagle Scouts. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 26, 1947, he was a son of the late Lyle A. and AnnaJean (Richards) Anderson. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 43 years, Carol S. (Shadel) Anderson of King of Prussia, PA; two sons, Kurt L. Anderson and Brett D. Anderson, both of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Collette M. Anderson and son-in-law, Ryan Haller, of Pennsburg, PA; two grandchildren, Tiernan K. Anderson and Celia R. Anderson; two brothers, Lyle A. Anderson and his wife, Sivey, and Lee A. Anderson and his wife, Mindy; a sister, Deborah H. Anderson; and many other loving family members. Due to the current pandemic, a celebration will be held for Larry at a later date.
