Dr. Richard A. Carapellotti

Dr. Richard A. Carapellotti, 75, of Elkins Park, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Manor in Meadowbrook, PA. He was born in Philadelphia on August 4, 1949, to the late Stephane (Jacobs) and Lawrence Carapellotti.

Richard dedicated his life to caring for others as a respected OB-GYN, earning his M.D. and PhD and practicing for decades with compassion, skill, and integrity.

He was deeply committed to his patients and cherished the many families he guided through life’s most personal and profound moments.

Outside of medicine, Richard found joy in life’s everyday comforts. He was a passionate home cook who loved preparing meals for his family and friends, often turning simple ingredients into something memorable. His kitchen was a place of warmth, conversation, and care—just like he was. He also found peace and reflection in fishing, often spending days on the water with his son, grandson and friends. Music was another lifelong companion; he enjoyed playing the piano, filling his home with melodies that brought comfort and joy to those around him.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Helene M. (née Landis); his children, Adam (Jenna Eagan), Laura; grandchildren Leo and Beatrice; and his brother Lawrence (Cathy). He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald (Lynn).

A funeral service will be held on June 6th at Immaculate Conception Church- 606 West Ave, Jenkintown, PA 19046. Visitation will be held from 9:15am to 10:15am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30am.

Close friends and family are invited to visit afterwards at 315 Rices Mill RD, Wyncote, PA 19095 from 12pm to 3pm.
