Edmund Raymond Orme Iii

December 13, 1979 — May 9, 2014

Edmund R. Orme III, 34, of Audubon, Pa., known as Ed, died peacefully at home on Friday, May 9, with his mother and father beside him.  Ed was born in Phila., Pa. and lived for a period of his childhood in Sicklerville, N.J.  Ed had been a cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT in 1998 until he was dis-enrolled due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.  Since that time, he was cared for at home by his family, friends and nurses.  He enjoyed being outside, watching the Flyers on TV and listening to his music.  Previously Ed was a triathlete at Methacton High School, graduating in June 1998.  He participated on the soccer, swimming and track teams, and was co-captain of the soccer and track teams.  He was a member of the National Honor Society. Ed enjoyed the outdoors and camping and had attained the rank of Eagle Scout.  He and a friend started a lawn mowing business to save money for college.  In his younger years Ed attended Visitation B.V.M. School and participated in CYO sports and as an altar server.     In addition to his mother, Marian Chemerys Orme, and, his father, Ed Sr., Ed is survived by a brother Brian (Lauren) and sisters Kathy and Lisa, as well as nephew Hunter and niece Ellie.  Also will be sadly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 14th followed by a Funeral Mass 10 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA.  Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Phila. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions in Ed’s name can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 14thfollowed by a Funeral Mass 10 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N.
