Edna Faye Green Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandma and Friend. We will Never Forget You. On March 20, 1944 the world welcomed a precious bouncing baby girl, the 7th of 12 children, she was born to the parents of Clyde Raiford and Janie M. Fortson-Raiford in Elberton Georgia. Edna excepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church in Alcoa Tennessee. Edna attended and graduated from Charles M. Hall High School in 1963. Following her graduation from High School at the young age of 18 Edna embarked on her life adventure and took a bus to New York City where she was employed as a nanny for Dr. and Mrs. Bluth and cared for their 3 children. She soon was ready for more exploration and left her employment as a nanny and moved to Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She lived with her mother’s brother Charlie Moton (Uncle Charlie). Edna was a talented beautician for over 40 years, a passion that began in her early childhood. She loved to cook, she loved baking cakes and she loved feeding people and anyone who got the chance to know her knew her favorite people were her kids, sisters, friends and Stella (her Cat). Edna also loved to dance...especially line dancing. She worked for Sears Roebuck for 12 years before attending beauty school and embarking on a lifelong career in the beauty industry. On July 11th, 2021, at 4:30 in the afternoon Edna Faye Green passed away at the age of 77 in Abington, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Janie M. Fortson-Raiford, two brothers OB Raiford and Clyde Raiford, three sisters Betsy Raindrop, Virginia Henry and Doris Gwendolyn Cook. She leaves to cherish her memory, Her husband Eugene Green, A devoted son Mark Green, his wife (Stacey), her beloved daughter Jennifer her ex-husband (Ron) granddaughters Marai and Peyton and grandson Kristopher. 6 siblings Ted Raiford his wife (Donna) of Fayetteville NC, Mary Saulsbury her husband (Leurman) of Columbus Oh, Tillia Raiford-Fox of Atlanta GA, Wilma Raiford, of Maryville, Tennessee, Linda Rheubottom her husband (John) of Gonzales LA and Cathy McCord her husband (Dan) of Alcoa TN. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and many many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with family on Wednesday July 21, 2021 starting at 11 AM at the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046. A Memorial Service will begin at 12 Noon. Condolences may be made at www.meyersfh.com. Edna's services will also be live streamed.
