Edward Hagelgans Jr.

Edward Hagelgans, Jr. of Audubon, PA passed away on June 25, 2021 at the age of 93 after a long illness. He formerly lived in Chesterbrook and Newtown Square. Born in Baltimore, he graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic High School and then joined the US Navy and served on the USS New Jersey. He then attended Purdue University and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering in four years. While at Purdue, Edward was elected to the honorary IEEE society, Eta Kappa Nu. He was employed as an electrical engineer at several companies including Westinghouse and DuPont. In retirement Edward pursued his interests in photography and astronomy and spent many hours enjoying Valley Forge Park. Edward is survived by his loving wife Nancy (ne Lineken) of 65 years; children John (Jajorie), Carol King and Linda Verticelli (Philip); grandson Drew King. He was predeceased by his son Mark Hagelgans, grandson Justin King, son-in-law David King, and sister Ruth Carter. Services will be private.
