Edward J. Herbst, Iii

Herbst, Edward Joseph, III, Age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Jan. 6, 2018. Mr. Herbst graduated from St Joseph’s University (1954) and retired from Honeywell. He is survived by 7 children and step children (Marianne G Helou (Herbst), Judith Herbst, Edward Herbst IV, James Herbst, Daniel Kelleher, Thomas Kelleher, and Deborah Maha (Kelleher)), 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, brother Joseph, and nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his wife Margaret (Kelleher nee Geary), former wife, Mary Irene (Lentz) and stepson, James Kelleher. He served his country in the US Navy (1954-57) He was a member of VFW Post 7155, a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member, and a member of Flaherty Knights of Columbus Council #3128, in Glenside PA. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Abington Hospital/Memory Support Center, VA Hospital - Phila, or St Josephs University. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, at Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave, Jenkintown PA from 6 – 8PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Sat., Jan. 13, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, 602 West Ave, Jenkintown.
