Edward A. Hildebrandt, Jr.

Edward A. Hildebrandt Jr. of Audubon, PA, died peacefully in the loving arms of his wife, Deborah, at their home on Friday, October 27, 2017. He was 80. Edward suffered a long illness which he faced with hope and courage. He was born in Phoenixville, PA on June 24, 1937 to Edward and Anna (Fedor) Hildebrandt and grew up in the King Manor area of Upper Merion. As the first-born son, he was called upon at a very young age to support his family when a devastating accident took the health of his beloved father. In 1960, he established Hildebrandt’s Auto Body in Audubon, PA, which he successfully operated until his failing health necessitated its closing. Ed had a passion for racing and during the 1960’s and 70’s he enjoyed much success in the drag racing and stock car circuits. Later in life, his interests turned to boating on the Chesapeake. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 29 years, Deborah (Klus) Hildebrandt; four children: Tina Marie Hildebrandt, Andrea Joan Hillegass and her husband, Neal, Edward A. Hildebrandt, III and Wendy Anne Weimer Greenlee and her husband, Michael; six grandchildren: Ashley, Brandy, Candice, Emily, Jade and Klarissa; two great-grandchildren; brother, Theodore Hildebrandt and his wife, Donna; sister, Louise Weaver; and mother-in-law, Marion Klus. He was preceded in death by sister, Patricia Ann Munz and father-in-law, Stephen Klus. Funeral services will be private.
