Edward Joseph Goebig, Jr.

Edward J. Goebig, Jr. passed away surrounded by his family on June 3, 2024 in E. Norriton, PA. Born on February 8, 1940, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Marie H. (Callahan) Goebig.

Dear brother of Eileen (Harry) Zobel and Thomas (Janis) Goebig. Loving father to Chantelle (Brad) Yamrick and Eddie (Jackie) Goebig III. Beloved grandfather of Jake & Julia Goebig and Adam & Sarah Yamrick. Devoted companion of Alberta McCulla. Brother-in-law of Aaron Winokur. And dear friend of Kevin M. McCulla.

A native Philadelphian, Ed was a dashing gentleman with a heartwarming, delightful laugh. Ed served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1960 on the first USS Basilone DD-824 as a Radarman 2nd Class. His career spanned 37 years at GE/Lockheed Martin Aerospace, retiring in 1998. He held many titles with the company including Wireman, Tech Writer, Manufacturer/Engineer, and Proposal Coordinator. Ed was an avid bird watcher, loved reading the Philadelphia Inquirer, doing the crossword and sudoku puzzles, as well as spending Friday nights with his dear friends at Pepper’s in King of Prussia. Most recently of Frazer, PA, Ed spent many winters in Cape Coral, FL with friends and summered on Long Beach Island.

All who knew and loved Ed will miss him dearly. Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Pennsylvania SPCA pspca.org/donate or 350 E. Erie Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19134.
