Edward F. Kizel, 89, of Philadelphia, PA passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. He was the loving husband of Marie (Menapace), father to Stephen, Ann, Jason (Dawn), Seth (Denise) and grandfather to Taylor, Jacqueline, Mikayla, Kainalu and Olivia. He was born in Mount Carmel, PA on February 21, 1932 to Helen Ella (Roth) and Frank Kizel, brother to Clarence Roth. Edward graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1951, attended Murrell Dobbins Vocational- Technical School, graduated in 1955 with an apprenticeship in Tool and Die completed at Engineering Tool Company, Philadelphia, PA. Shortly after his apprenticeship he completed his selective service in the United States Navy as a Machinist First Class on the USS Cadmus. He married Marie on June 26, 1954 in Olney, MD in St. Peter’s Church. It was a small gathering of close friends and immediate family. After his naval service, he lived and worked in the Philadelphia area and purchased a home in Jenkintown, PA where he lived for 51 years. He was self employed and the owner of The Kinetic Tool Co which gave him the freedom to travel and vacation with friends. In his youth, he was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing frequently. He enjoyed boating and flying with his family and friends. At home he enjoyed raising his family, having block parties, building props and sets for the Jenkintown Music Theatre and Friday night spaghetti dinners during high school football season. He attended Blackthorn Rugby Football Games in the spring and fall and an honorary social member. He loved to tell you a story if you gave him your ear and he answered to several nicknames like: Crooner, Nature Boy, Chizel, Chiz, and Uncle Chiz to all his nieces and nephews. He was a great listener, loved big band music, an amazing singer- he walked around singing all the time, a loving, caring man with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 9-9:50 AM and funeral mass at 10 AM both a the Immaculate Conception BVM Church, 602 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA.
