Edward M. Mathisen

Edward M. Mathisen passed away peacefully on October 17, 2012. He was 85. Mr. Mathisen was a resident of West Chester, PA. He worked as a technical sales representative in the Professional Photography Division of the Eastman Kodak Company in NYC, until his retirement in 1992. Edward was a member of St. Peter's Church in the Great Valley, Malvern, PA. Mr. Mathisen was a US Navy veteran of WW II, serving as a Seaman First Class aboard the USS Shangri-La.Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 17, 1927, he was a son of the late Meidel and Oline (Hansen) Mathisen. He was the husband of the late Carolyn (Mirales) Mathisen, who died in 2009. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Michael E. Mathisen and his wife, Margaret, of Phoenixville, PA and Richard J. Mathisen and his wife, Lisa Bean, of Sistersville, WV; a daughter, Jane M. Mathisen and her husband, Robert Aronowitz, of Merion Station, PA; seven grandchildren: Ted, Jim, Katie & Ian Mathisen, Sara & Daniel Aronowitz and Ellen Beiwald; 2 great-grandchildren, Benjamin & Zoe Mathisen; and a sister, Mryna Hommen of Highland Mills, NY. Edward's viewing will be at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 3 to 5:00 pm. His Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter's Church in the Great Valley, 2475 St. Peter's Rd., Malvern, PA 19355 on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in the church yard.
