Edward Bernard Monaghan, 80, of Bensalem, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 25th, 2022, at his residence. Edward was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 16, 1942, a son of the late Marian F. (nee Walsh) Monaghan and Bernard Edward Monaghan. He was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School and Saint Joseph’s University. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a civilian employee of the United States Department of the Navy. He was extremely proud of his service to our Nation. Edward is survived by his dear sister, Ellen Mary (Monaghan) Doyle, his dear Brother-in-Law, James A. Doyle; his beloved nieces Bernadette A. Elisco (John Elisco), Maureen P. Evans (Thomas Evans), Tricia E. Doyle (John Kopacz) and his pride and joy: grand nieces and nephews Michael James Elisco, Gabrielle Nichole Sheller, Rachael Corinne Sheller, Samuel John Elisco, Madeline Sinclair Logic, Brian Douglas Sheller, Emily Anne Elisco, and Camille Renee Logic; and his beloved cousins. Edward was a man of few words and a big heart. He was a voracious reader and was a dependable source for “good books” and all things Civil War and World War II. He cherished his nieces and enjoyed getting updates about his grandnieces and nephews and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. His legacy will live on through these children he cherished. He will be forever loved and admired. God Bless you, Uncle Ed.
