Edward J. Stoves passed away suddenly on Monday, November 2, 2015, at his residence in Audubon, PA. He was 81. Mr. Stoves was formerly of King of Prussia, PA, and was a member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Wayne, PA. He worked as a chemical engineer for the Atlantic-Richfield Company in Philadelphia, PA. Edward was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Born in Jeannette, PA on September 26, 1934, he was a son of the late Edward J. Stoves, Sr. and Bella M. (Humelsine) Stoves. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 60 years, Evanna M. (Heidbreder) Stoves; three sons: James F. (Marie) Stoves of Lansford, PA, Christopher E. (Diane) Stoves of Attleboro, Mass and Douglas R. (Eileen) Stoves of Harlingen, TX; a daughter, Carolyn E. (Robert) Zimmerman of Harmony, PA; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers: Roy E. (Eleanor) Stoves of Irwin, PA, Gordon P. (Jeannette) Stoves of Irwin, PA, David J. (Judy) Stoves of Streamwood, Ill and Donald K. Stoves of Pittsburgh, PA; loving foster parent to 102 foster children; and many other loving family members. The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, 600 Walker Rd., Wayne, PA on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 10 to 11:00 am, followed by Edward’s Memorial Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church’s Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward’s memory to St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, 600 Walker Rd., Wayne, PA 19087.
