Edward L. Szymanski, Sr.

Edward L. Szymanski, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Brandywine Senior Suites in Norristown, PA. He was 87. Mr. Szymanski was a former resident of Bridgeport, PA. He retired as a factory worker for the former B.F. Goodrich Tire Co., Oaks, PA, after 33 years. He also worked at the former Lee Worster Mills & Hosey Energetic Mills, both in Bridgeport, PA. Edward was a member of St. Augustine R.C. Church in Bridgeport, PA.Mr. Szymanski was a US Army veteran of WW II serving as a Corporal from 1943 to 1946. He received a Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars and a World War II Victory Medal.Born in Burlington, NJ on June 12, 1923, he was a son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Pinkos) Szymanski. He was the husband of the late Teresa (Carfagno) Szymanski, who died in 2001. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Edward L. Szymanski, Jr. and his wife, Diane Balistreri of Quakertown, PA; a daughter, Cathy Trexler and her husband, Gregg of King of Prussia, PA; a grandson; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Szymanski; and two sisters, Eleanor Rahmer and Helen Bearoff. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, 464 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott D. Brockson, Pastor. Relatives and friends may call Thursday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward's memory to the Michael J.
