Edward H. Weckerly passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. He was 93. Mr. Weckerly was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a mailman for the US Post Office in Ardmore, PA. Edward attended St. Augustine R.C. Church in Bridgeport, PA. He enjoyed gardening and loved to go fishing and crabbing in Maryland and New York. Mr. Weckerly was a US Army veteran of WW II, serving as a corporal from 1941 to 1945.Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 10, 1917, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Ryerson) Weckerly. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 66 years, Alice M. (Lynch) Weckerly; three daughters, Elizabeth A. "Betty" O'Reilly of Bridgeport, PA, Margaret M. Bolognese and her husband, Dennis of Perkiomenville, PA and Alice A. Van Veen and her husband, Peter of Elkton, MD; eight grandchildren: Abby, Katie, Casey, Kathy, Peggy, Chuck, Jennifer and Jeffrey; five great-grandchildren: Riley, Sam, Sean, Sunny and Sage; a sister, Alice Wolfe of Plymouth Meeting, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Weckerly, and a sister, Gertrude Grass.Relatives and friends are invited to his Prayer Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Monday, January 17, 2011, 2011 at 1:30pm. Edward's viewing is Monday from 12 noon to 1:20pm, at the funeral home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 1:00pm. Please assemble at the cemetery office at 12:45pm for procession to the gravesite.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward's memory to St. Augustine R.C. Church, 464 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA, 19405.
