Edwin "Ed" J. Gear

Edwin “Ed” J. Gear passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at his residence in Bridgeport, PA. He was 56. Ed was an Upper Merion High School graduate and worked as a Handyman in the local area, where he turned out to be everyones’ right hand man. Eddie was a Bridgeport local that you would find hanging out at the In & Out Store, enjoying his lunch at the Kagan’s Deli, doing his lottery scratch offs and talking to anyone that entered the building. He was everyone’s friend, always had a smile on his face and willing to help anyone that needed a hand. But above all, Eddie was a family man who took great care of his mother in her later years, enjoyed watching his godchild, and hanging out with his great nieces and nephews. He loved all kinds of animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed playing softball and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.

Born on March 19, 1967, in Norristown, PA, he was a son of the late Walter J. and Monica D. (DeSimone) Gear.

Surviving is his loving family including 2 brothers, Michael Gear (Angela), and George Gear; 4 sisters, Sandra DeNaro (Michael), Maryann Gear (Jennifer), Karen Zachau (Geoff) and Jennifer Ross (James); as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and many other loving family members and friends.

Eddie’s Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at St. Augustine Cemetery, on Rt. 202, in King of Prussia, PA at 11:00AM.
