Eleanor G. (Gunning) Kolpak passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook, PA. She was 94. Mrs. Kolpak was a former resident of King of Prussia, PA and was a member of the Upper Merion Baptist Church in King of Prussia, PA. She graduated from Conshohocken High School, Class of 1940, where she was the Class Valedictorian. Eleanor worked at the American Baptist Church World Services in King of Prussia, PA, where she helped relocate Southeast Asian refugees into Christian homes. Born in Manayunk, PA on August 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William Gunning and Ida (Reigner) and step-daughter of the late George Hansberry. Eleanor was the wife of the late Charles A. Kolpak, who died in 1996. Surviving is her loving family including two sons, David C. Kolpak and his wife, Deborah, of Elverson, PA and J. Thomas Kolpak and his wife, Deborah, of Elverson, PA; two daughters, Linda J. Kolpak of Cincinnati, OH and Barbara Courtney and her husband, Rick, of Honey Brook, PA; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and family members. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Dr. George Hansberry, Frederick Hansberry and Donald Hansberry. Eleanor’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 9 to 10:00 am, followed by her Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow immediately after at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens in King of Prussia.
