Elizabeth L. (Weinmann) Bednar passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, PA. She was 79. Mrs. Bednar was a resident of Blue Bell, PA. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from Millersville University and worked as a 1st Grade Teacher at Gotwals Elementary School in Norristown, PA. Elizabeth also worked part-time in Bloomingdales Department Store in King of Prussia, PA. She was known for being a savvy shopper and impeccable dresser. Elizabeth’s favorite thing was spending time with family, and her three granddaughters. Born in Trenton, NJ on October 19, 1939, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Mildred M. (Leber) Weinmann. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. “Sonny” Bednar, III, who died in 1982. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Jacqueline Moran and her husband, William, of Worcester, PA; a son, Stephen J. Bednar, IV and his wife, Julie, of Lansdale, PA; three granddaughters: Abigail, Elizabeth and Hannah; two sisters, Jane Giordano and her husband, Paul and Mildred “Sis” Becker; a brother-in-law, Bruce Bednar; and many other loving family members. Relatives and friends are invited to Elizabeth’s Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 12 noon. Her viewing will be Tuesday from 11 to 11:50 am. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to Believe in Miracles, P.O. Box 21199, Catonsville Maryland 21228.
