Elizabeth “Betty” Jane (Tarlecki) Musumeci passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Towne Manor East in E. Norriton, PA. She was 92. Betty was born in Bridgeport, PA on November 1, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Francis J. and Marie “Nettie” (McNamara) Tarlecki. Betty was a contestant in the Miss America Pageant in 1948, finishing in the top 15 and was the winner of the Miss Greater Philadelphia representing the Eastern part of the state. Betty was a very accomplished entertainer and a talented singer. She appeared in the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, NJ with several big bands, sharing the stage with the Lennon Sisters at the Manor Hotel in Wildwood, NJ. She sang with Guy Mitchell and recorded a country song called Satisfied Minds on the album with Jack and Betty. She was the lead singer for the Buddy Williams Band touring all over the United States with them and was called by Gene Krupa to go on the road with them. Betty even sang with her brothers, Richard “Dick” and Ken, doing gigs in Altaltic City, at the Traymore Hotel and the 500 Club, and numerous places in Wildwood. She even did TV, working on a late night show with Jack Parr in Philadelphia. But above all, Betty was deeply loved by all of her family, and was adoringly known by her nieces and nephews as Betty Spaghetti. Surviving are her beloved family members including her two brothers, Richard Tarlecki and Kenneth Tarlecki; several nieces, nephew and her cousins, the Mac’s. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Kranmer; a son, Philip Musumeci; a daughter, Jane Musumeci; and two brothers, Wayne and Jerry. A graveside service will be held for Betty at St. Augustine Cemetery, (Rt. 202) Dekalb Pike, King of Prussia, PA on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
