Elizabeth (Mcgee) Davis

Elizabeth "Betty" (McGee) Davis passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. She was 86. Mrs. Davis was a resident of Mont Clare, PA and was previously of King of Prussia, PA. She was a member of the former St. Augustine R.C. Church in Bridgeport, PA. Betty and her late husband, Joseph, were the founders of Suzy-Jo Donuts in Bridgeport, PA.Born in Philadelphia, PA on March 25, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Sharkey) McGee. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Davis, Jr., who died in 1985. Surviving is her loving family including a son, Joseph A. Davis, III and his wife, Denise, of Mont Clare, PA; a daughter, Joanne Barkmeyer and her husband, Ray, of King of Prussia, PA; five grandchildren: Lynne and Dennis Pitts, Amy and Michael Volpe, Emily and Donald Rubendall, Shannon Davis and Ellen Davis; five great-grandchildren: Abigail, Christopher and Zachary Volpe, and Dennis and Raymond Pitts; two brothers, Joseph and Betty McGee of Glenside, PA and Daniel and Shirley McGee of Elkton, MD; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Davis Drew; five sisters: Mary Boyd, Sarah Pelc, Margaret Black, Anna Bossler and Jane Dunn; and a brother, Francis "Bim" McGee. Relatives & friends are invited to Betty's Funeral Mass at the St. Augustine Worship Site, 464 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11:00 am. Her viewing will be Wednesday from 9 to 10:50 am, at the church.
