Elizabeth J. 'Betty' Katolick-Thomas

Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Bakalar) Katolick-Thomas passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Phoenixville Hospital in Phoenixville, PA. She was 79. Mrs. Katolick-Thomas was a resident of Audubon, PA. She worked as a secretary and was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Audubon, PA. Betty loved living in Shannondell and her hobbies there were volunteering in the Meadows, teaching dance, singing in the chorus, helping with the plays and attending all their shows. Born in Shenandoah, PA on July 22, 1932, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Guzick) Bakalar. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 9 years, John C. "Jack" Thomas; two daughters, Jacqueline R. "Jackie" Garay and her husband, Andrew of King of Prussia, PA and Lisa Hall and her husband, David of Delran, NJ; two step-daughters, Valerie Melroy and Jacqueline Thomas; five grandchildren: Andrea, Matthew & Stephan Garay and Michael & Melissa Hall; a great-grandson, Dylan Garay; five step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a brother, John Bakalar of York, PA; three sisters: Rosemary Capella and her husband, Jack of Levittown, PA, Patricia Miller of Cincinnati, OH and Christine Berger and her husband, George of Bloomsburg, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Katolick, who died in 1993.Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd. Audubon, PA 19403 on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11:00am. Betty's viewing will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:50am, at the church.
