Elizabeth "Betty" Matey

Elizabeth Marie “Betty” (Rathgeb) Matey passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA. She was 93. Mrs. Matey was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School. Betty was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 17, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Price) Rathgeb; and the wife of the late Edward J. Matey Sr., who died in 1974. Surviving is her loving family including 5 sons: Edward (Mimi) Matey, James (Debbie) Matey, Thomas (Dotsey) Matey, Stephen (Susan) Matey and David (Coleen) Matey; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers: Elmer, Thomas and Richard Rathgeb. Relatives & friends are invited to Betty’s viewing at the Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 8:30 to 9:45 am. Her Funeral Mass will follow at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia at 10:30 am; with Eulogy starting at 10:15 am. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
