Denise Mccarthy

Elizabeth Denise McCarthy, 86, of Marco Island, FL, formerly of Jenkintown, PA passed away Thursday, April 18th, 2024 peacefully, at Avow Hospice, in Naples, Florida. Elizabeth was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 4, 1937, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Gallagher) and Thomas Ignatius White. She was the beloved widow of Jack McCarthy who preceded her on February 17, 2009.

Denise was a former member of Immaculate Conception BVM Church in Jenkintown, PA. She was a member of the Island Club in Marco Island, where she enjoyed playing tennis, making new friends and long-lasting relationships. She loved history and decorating her homes which led her to become a member of the Green Valley Questers. She traveled with the Questers to many historical places.

Elizabeth was the beloved wife of the late Jack McCarthy. She is survived by Lizanne McCarthy, Jack McCarthy, Deirdre (Joseph) Barnes, Sheila, (Matthew) Mundy, Barry (Laura) McCarthy, and Megan McCarthy. Beloved Mimi to, Brian, Jack, Matt, Tommy, Michael, Reagan, Jim, Clare, Maeve, Christy, Tracy and Finn. Elizabeth is also survived by her sister, Sister Mary Adele White SSND.

A public Visitation will be held from 9 AM until 10:15 AM on Friday, May 3rd at Immaculate Conception BVM Church 604 West Ave. in Jenkintown, PA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Elizabeth's interment will be held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
