Emil Senkow

September 11, 1925 — February 28, 2012

Emil Senkow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA. He was 86. Born in Philadelphia, he moved with his family to Clifton Heights, PA, where he lived until his marriage in 1958, living first in Philadelphia and then moving to King of Prussia, PA. A graduate of Clifton Heights High School, he entered the Navy in November of 1943 and proudly served aboard the LST 806 in the South Pacific before his honorable discharge in May of 1946. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bridgeport, PA and a past National Commander of the Ukrainian American Veterans Association. Emil worked for the General Electric Company for 43 years starting in 1947 at the GE Switchgear Plant in West Philadelphia. He then transferred to the King of Prussia Missile and Space Division in 1962 and retired as a Quality Project Engineer in 1990. Emil was an avid golfer and reader.Born on September 11, 1925, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna (Kruba) Senkow. He was the husband of the late Dorothy S. (Woloshansky) Senkow, who died in 2006. Surviving are his children: Denise A. Kirk of Malvern, PA, Bruce E. Senkow of Fairbanks, Alaska and Gary J. Senkow of Eagleville, PA; five grandchildren: Colin, Lydia, Ryan, Jonathan & Felicia; a brother, Bohdan Senkow of Clifton Heights, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene & Walter. Relatives & friends are invited to Emil's Divine Liturgy at SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Msgr. Dr. Ronald Popivchak, Pastor.His viewing will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment in SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Emil's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, One Reed St., Suite 200, Philadelphia, PA 19147.Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA.www.bacchifuneralhome.com
