Emily D. Acker

Emily D. (Gallagher) Acker passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her residence in Bridgeport, PA. She was 75. Emily was an Upper Merion High School graduate, Class of 1966 where she played varsity basketball, field hockey, and lacrosse, and was a softball coach in her younger years. She worked in the accounts payable department for Physiotherapy Associates at the time of her retirement. Emily was an avid Eagles fan, loved The Golden Girls, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation was a favorite movie. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but above all she was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Born in Norristown, PA on September 28, 1948, she was a daughter of the late James and Loretta (Donbach) Gallagher.

Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Tammy McMillan and her husband, Kim; 3 grandchildren, Barbie Miller, Hunter McMillan and Brian McMillan; a brother, James “Jimmy” Gallagher and his wife, Debbie; 3 sisters, Loretta Rhodes and her husband, James, Dorothy Strausser, and Joy Gallagher; and many nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Miller.

Funeral arrangements are private at the request of the family.
