Emmanuel Doulgerakis passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Gwynedd Healthcare & Rehab Center in Lansdale, PA. He was 83. Mr. Doulgerakis (Manny) was a former resident of Bridgeport, PA. He was a crossing guard for Bridgeport Boro for many years. He retired from the Upper Merion School District after 10 years. Prior to coming to the United States, Emmanuel served as a Merchant Sailor for 18 years with ZIM out of Haifa, Israel, where he toured over 100 countries during his service. Born in the town of Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece on February 20, 1939, he was a son of the late John and Ebgenia (Mbea) Doulgerakis; and the husband of the late Maria C. (Troilo) Doulgerakis, who died on June 1st. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Joseph DiBattista III and his wife, Kim and Nicolaos Doulgerakis and his wife, Wendy; five grandchildren: Eva, Joseph and Mia, Holly (Elan) and Crystal, and one great-grandson, Ari; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Mike and Nikos Doulgerakis; and a sister, Maria. A celebration of life for both Manny and Maria will be announced at a later date.
