Ernest Gruber

Ernest Gruber, 85 of Audubon passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022 with his daughter Annamarie by his side. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 31, 1936 to the late Ernest E. Gruber and Elizabeth Kenney. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary G. Gruber; daughter, Annamarie Genther (Mark A’Brial); nephew, William Daywalt (Jennifer); Niece, Cheryl Verofsky (Frank Vertrulli) and several other nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Eileen; brother, Harry; sisters, Carol and Linda. Ernie was a lifetime member of Geo. Clay Fire Co. W. Conshohoken which included several positions as chief engineer, secretary for ambulance, company treasurer and more. He spent 50 years working at John Woods Company and worked as a Court Crier at the Montgomery County Courthouse for over 18 years. Ernie loved to play softball and was an avid golfer. You often found him on the golf course on the weekends teeing it up with his favorite foursome. He also enjoyed reading a good novel. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 29 at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, 101 N. Park Ave. (Rt. 363 Trooper) Eagleville, Pa. from 5:30-7:30pm followed by a service at 7:30 pm.
